OFFICIAL DISTANCES OF THE EVENT

110km – Available to both Elite riders and individual riders who qualify for this distance. We also offer a separate category for corporate teams in the 110km event. Also available, a 54 km.

28 August 2022: No late entries accepted, only pre-entry race numbers to be collected from 5:30 until 25 minutes before each race

PROOF OF CSA LICENCE OR AFFILIATION

You will be required to produce your valid CSA licence, proof of Provincial or Club affiliation at registration or you will be required to purchase an event licence at registration for R50,00.

SEEDING

Seeding of the event is done according to your racing index for all online entries and pre-entries received and paid before relevant closing dates.

LATE ENTRIES

Late line entries will only be accepted at the registration venues as indicated. No late entries on the day of the race will be accepted.
NOTE: A penalty fee of R60,00 will be applicable for all three distances. No seeding for late entries, you will be seeded in the non seeded groups.

TANDEMS

Each rider must complete a separate entry form or enter as required.
Please fill in your tandem-partner’s name and ID.
Both tandem riders must wear RaceTec timing chips to have a result and seeding for the event.

TIMING COMPANY

Timing results will be done by RaceTec.
Each entrant must be in possession of a RaceTec timing chip to receive timing. Each cyclist must carry the RaceTec timing chip for the duration of the event. NO CHIP: NO TIME, NO RESULTS. RaceTec timing chips will be for sale at the registration venues at a cost of R150,00.

RIDE INFORMATION

The cut-off time for the event is 14:00, when all officials will be withdrawn from the route. All riders must then stop riding in the race.

BAD WEATHER

The event will take place regardless of weather conditions and will only be cancelled for safety reasons. No refunds will be made.

SUBSTITUTION OF NUMBERS / CHANGING OF DISTANCES

No cyclist may use another person’s cycling number.
If you are unable to cycle, someone may take over your place with a letter of authorisation from you.
Your entry fee will not be refunded and the substitute participant will be required to pay a fee of R60,00 over and above the applicable entry fee.
Distance changes to be treated as a substitution.
Re- seeding will be treated in the same manner as substitution.
No substitutions will be allowed on race day, regardless of circumstances.

ROAD SAFETY

NO HELMET NO RIDE
Ample lead and sweep vehicles will be available as well as a strong contingent of Metro Police.
All participants are deemed to have acquainted themselves with the rules and regulations.
Cyclists must at all times obey the instructions of the traffic officers and marshals and comply strictly with the rules of the road, unless authorised to the contrary by a traffic officer or a marshal.
Failure to comply will lead to disqualification.

HOW DO I KNOW WHETHER I AM REGISTERED

As soon as you have registered, you will receive an online confirmation from My Active. You will also receive an electronic receipt after your payment.

PRIZE GIVING AND LUCKY DRAW

Prize giving will start at 11:00 for the Elite riders, Ladies Elite and 54 km.
The prizegiving for the 110 km will start at 12:00.
A lucky draw will take place.
No prize money will be handed to winners before the prize giving, regardless of circumstances.
You will forfeit the prize money / trophy if you are not present at the prize giving.
The event carries a prize money of R60 000. The detailed information is available on the Race for Victory website under prize money.

FIRST AID

Medical assistance will be provided at the start, along the route and at the finish by NETCARE 911 personnel. Any cyclist requiring hospital care will be taken to the Mulbarton or Union Hospital.

PHOTOGRAPHERS

The official photographer for the event will be Cycle Nation. Photos will be placed on the Cycle Nation Webpage.

RESULTS

Provisional results will be available after the race at the information desk as indicated. The final results of the event will be available within 24 hours on the website: www.racetec.co.za. Any objections must be tabled with the race organiser / referee / CSA officials within 1 hour after the finish of the race, accompanied by a payment of R100,00. NO CHANGES will be made thereafter, as they cannot be included in the National Seeding Index.

RACE ORGANISERS DISCRETION

The race organisers have complete discretion in deciding whether to accept the entry of a participant. The organisers reserve the right to refuse the entry of any rider should they so decide. All race results will be in the hands of the race organisers whose decision will be final, there being no right of appeal.
